Call me Ci. I tell stories about my city.

I’m an Istanbulite photographer (b. Beyoğlu, 1986) who is mainly focused on telling social documentary and personal stories about İstanbul. I produce photo-essays about my city, then turn them into zines, books, and exhibitions.

I was once a photojournalist, then I decided to make pictures only for myself. Nowadays I work as a senior copywriter at an advertising studio by day, and I create images also by day.

For inspiration, I enjoy looking at paintings and listening to horror stories.
Currently — as of August 2021, I'm focused on my project Unutursan Darılmam (I Won't Be Sad If You Forget Me). It's a long-term story about İstanbul, the signs of being left behind, and dealing with loneliness.

I update my Instagram daily and share selected photographs. My camera of choice is Fujifilm X100F and I always shoot with the flash on.

I am an affiliate of PLATFORM by GAPO.

I can be reached via email.
